Why Get Newborn Photography?
Memories – Your child is going to be grown up before you know it, don’t regret not taking all of those pictures when he or she was an infant. It’s amazing how much they can grow in even the first six months!
Quality – You just witnessed the birth of your first child. Are you really going to capture the opening moments of his or her life with a smart phone or even a point-and-shoot camera? If you want to go and get your pictures printed, it still won’t come close to the quality and clarity of getting it professionally done.
Detail – Getting newborn photography is more than just snapping full body portraits. Make sure to capture the little details as well, like those way-too-cute tiny little fingers. The little things change fast too, don’t miss out before it is too late!
When You Should Get Your Newborn Photographed
Newborn photography sessions are recommended to be scheduled less than two weeks after the baby is born and 5-10 days is the most ideal. Babies at this age are more prone to curl up in those adorable womb-like poses, stay unclothed and be asleep longer.
Scheduling babies less than five days old can bring problems with feed because five days is how long it normally takes for the mother’s milk to increase in volume. When you schedule a newborn to be photographed after two weeks, it’ll be more difficult to get the baby into those curl-up poses.
