January 5th, 2017

The feeling of adoration the first time you hold your newborn daughter. The overwhelming sense of pride after seeing your son take his first steps.

At Stacey Dennin Photography, we believe it’s important to capture memories of you and your child’s journey. We offer maternity and infant photo shoots, specializing in taking photos of newborn children and the first year of their life.

A newborn session is a way to receive lasting, high-quality pictures of your child during this stage of their life. Ditch digital photos: Tangible portraits of your baby are a perfect way to ensure your memories are safe, since smartphones and hard drives are both prone to crashing.

If you’re expecting and want to have professional photos of your child taken, you likely have questions for us. Here are answers to some of your most common questions:

When is the best time for a newborn session?

The best time to hold a photo shoot of your newborn is after they are first born. Any time up to their first 14 days of life is ideal as they can they fall into a deep sleep much easier and be posed with little difficulty.

Where would my newborn session take place?

A newborn session can be held in the comfort of your home. Not much space is needed for this session, and we will be sure to use the best setting possible. We will provide a baby bean bag chair and blankets to make sure your infant is comfortable and posed properly during the session.

What type of lighting works best?

Natural lighting is the best for a newborn session. We can open up your curtains and shoot near a large window during the morning or late afternoon to capture this flattering lighting.

What if they are hungry or tired?

A sleeping baby is a photogenic baby. By making sure that your child is tired prior to a photo shoot, it will be easier to take quality pictures. You should also feed your newborn right before the session as it will keep them happy and tired.

How long does it last?

A newborn session is totally dependent on how your child cooperates. If your baby is willing to sleep the whole time, we can get many quality pictures in a shorter time-frame. Typically, these shoots last for a few hours.

We hope to capture your infant’s precious moments and give you pictures that you will treasure throughout the years. If you wish to schedule a newborn session with Stacey Dennin Photography, we encourage you to call 267-454-6755 or browse our website.
